LE CANNICELLE LUXURY VILLA WITH POOL CILENTO COAST

DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA

Le Cannicelle is a modern, three-storey villa built in a traditional style, set 124 feet above sea level with stunning views of the Golfo di Policastro that stretch for miles along the Cilento coast.

The villa is comfortably furnished in a contemporary style and each level is self-contained, making it ideal for larger groups. Outside there is ample space for everyone to come together and enjoy the stunning sea views from one of the many terraces, lounge in the shade of a huge Mediterranean oak tree, soak up the sun around the pool, or enjoy a meal on the rustic ‘taverna’ dining terrace.

The beach at Villammare is only 800 metres away and in the summer has lively beach cafes and facilities. The village centre offers a small selection of bars and restaurants. Nearby Sapri is a larger town with good train links to Salerno and Naples. Inland, the charming hilltop village of Vibonati is lit in ever-changing colours during the balmy summer evenings. Villammare itself sits at the southernmost point of the Cilento National Park – the second-largest in Italy, stretching across a huge mountain range and an important ecological area with abundant wildlife. There are many historical sites to visit, from the famous and impressive Certosa monastery at Padula to the Ancient Greek temples at Paestum and the atmospheric, abandoned village of San Severino di Centola. Natural sites include the enchanting Hair of Venus waterfalls (Cascate di Venere) half an hour away at Casaletto Spartano, the Grotte di Castelcivita caves inland, and the Capo Palinuro sea caves, and numerous other places.

This stretch of the Tyrrhenian coast is rugged and unspoilt – a glimpse of the Amalfi of the past, before it was ‘discovered’. Why not take a boat trip from the delightful port at Scario to Porto Infreschi, passing caves and hidden coves en route, and order a fresh seafood lunch from the boat-cum-restaurant which is moored in this tiny natural bay. Or drive south to see the impressive statue of Christ high on the mountain above Maratea. If the hydrofoil service is running – it is charmingly erratic! – you can reach the Amalfi coast and the island of Capri from Sapri harbour within 3 hours during the summer months – the perfect way to enjoy the Amalfi coast without staying in the tourist hustle and bustle!

The Cilento National Park takes in one of the most attractive strips of the Tyrrhenian coast with its long sandy beaches, a colourful seafront fringed with palms and eucalyptus trees, small restaurants, cosy hidden coves. Villammare is the perfect seaside resort for families in search of friendly and charming spots off the beaten track. Breathtaking views from the hills covered with centuries-old cork oaks, treks in the mountains, cruises along the Cilento Coast, mouth-watering regional cuisine, and the special friendliness of the locals will draw you back to this region year after year.

Lower terrace with vine-covered pergola, large mediterranean oak tree providing extra shade and taverna-style, covered outdoor dining terrace seating 10 with summer kitchen, built-in charcoal barbecue & pizza oven. Two further outdoor dining areas at first floor level. Parking for 10 cars.

SERVICES AT THIS LUXURY VILLA WITH POOL

Included: 4 hours maid service per day, 6 days per week. WiFi internet. Air-conditioning. Winter heating.

Extras: Pool towels €10 per person per week. Additional maid service on request. Cook service & waiter on request at €200 per dinner (excluding cost of the food. Traditional local cuisine menu will be arranged with clients in the morning). Pizza chef and waiter at €300 for pizza parties (using wood pizza oven. Cost of the food is not included). A local tourist tax may apply. As an exclusive service for guests staying at Le Cannicelle, the local AVIS office can arrange one-way or return transfers from the airport to the villa. The published rates are for a max of 12 people made up of 10 adults and 4 children. A local tourist tax applies from June-Sept. 1 euro per person per night. This does not apply to children under 10.
