DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA

Positano villa with sea views – Perched on a cliffside in an exclusive private domaine, this pretty villa with air conditioning is set in a wonderful Mediterranean garden of hibiscus, agavi and maritime pine trees enjoying stunning views across the bay of Positano. From the villa, a funicular lift takes you down to a fabulous beach restaurant. A 5 minute walk brings you to the nearest restaurant, and within a short distance is also a convenient minimarket delivering groceries directly to your doorstep, on request.

The interior of Il Gabbiano is small yet tastefully furnished and decorated in typical Mediterranean style, using blue ceramic tiles against cool white walls. Sunlight and a gentle maritime breeze flow through the French doors into the open-plan living area. There is a splendid, large terrace; the perfect spot from which to enjoy the spectacular panorama.

This is an ideal location for exploring the Amalfi Coast, both by boat and by car. You will find plenty of restaurants, shops and bars in buzzing Positano close by, but don’t miss out on a visit to Amalfi or to Ravello, both of which are also very special places. One of the best ways to discover the stunning beauty of the Amalfi coast is from the sea itself. Boat trips are available to the islands of Capri or Ischia, as well as to other places on the coast. You can even charter your own boat for the day and discover your very own little cove! There are plenty of places to visit for the day, such as Pompei or Herculaneum, or Mount Vesuvius where you can climb up to the crater and admire the views over the Bay of Naples. Both by day and by night the Amalfi coast boasts an incredible and irresistible charm!

In the heart of the Amalfi Coast, surrounded by attractive green vegetation, Il Gabbiano enjoys a unique position in the world with its unbeatable views over the entire bay of Positano. A true oasis of peace and tranquillity. The villa is easily reached by a charming funicular, which takes you a short way down the cliffside to the villa – and which also carries guests further on down to the beach restaurant. The use of the private funicular/lift is shared only with guests staying at the nearby hotel and villas. For those who wish to come here by car, private parking is available just few metres from the lift. The local minimarket can also deliver your shopping directly to your doorstep, for a small extra charge. The whole coastline stretching from the Gulf of Naples to the Gulf of Salerno is a unique scenic area and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dotted with countless rocky coves, dramatic cliffs and picturesque whitewashed villages set against the cobalt-blue Tyrrhenian sea, this remarkable natural landscape will leave an everlasting impression on all its visitors.

Grounds – children must be carefully supervised in all areas of the grounds at all times:
40m2 terrace overlooking the bay of Positano and the sea, outdoor dining and sunbathing facilities. Private plunge pool 30m2 with ladder (depth 0.9m-1.8m).

This delightful domaine includes villas Perla di Mare, Il Gabbiano and Il Cormorano which can be rented separately, or together for larger groups of max 20.
It is on steep terrain with pathways and steps joining the villas.
The luxury hotel nearby runs a beach club at the beach below with restaurant where guests of the villas can book a table– ask the concierge to book you in!
Parking is available at extra cost in the nearby hotel’s car park (5 min’s walk). A local public bus stop is 50m from this hotel.
